Old School House Fun

What a fun find!  We were driving to a log home building site and came upon the first public school building in the Black Hills!

Ofcourse, those are MY goofy kids, orange hair and all!

Just in case you were wondering what an authentic old school house looks like! lol

Oh where, oh where has all the time gone? Oh where has it gone?

O.k. so the last time I posted was in July, so WHERE did August and September go????

We've already had our first snow and I haven't uploaded photos from the end of summer. Yikes!  I better get busy.

We had a special friend visit, did a wedding cake, went to Oregon twice, California once, did a few projects and celebrated a few birthdays!

I am going to try to post a few photos in the next couple of days.

Summer Fires

There were quite a few large fires this summer, one that was very close

This is Coldbrook, the lake right up the street from our home.

The fire was on the other side of the hills and water was being removed from Coldbrook by these helicopters

The Pringle area was left pretty burned up but lucky for us it never came close enough to damage our immediate area.  Looking back on the summer fire season helps us welcome the cold winter snow!

 We hauled load after load of rock into our front yard for a little landscaping.  We are not quite done, but it will be nice when it is completed.

We soon arrived to the Post Playhouse, Ft. Robinson, Nebraska

 

All ready for the show!  Can't wait.

We had so much fun!  It was a great performance in a picturesque place, we all had a wonderful time.

Cake Decorating Fun

Cake decorating FUN!

The girls set up shop in the little house and stayed up all night working on their cake creations

here they are in the fridge with their first crumbcoat

 

They made their fondant from scratch and are now 

officially professional marshmallow fondant makers!

  

The girls planned their designs and in Emy's case

even did some math to make sure it would all work out just right

Our "Redneck" Experience!

We thought it was a regular ol' rodeo . . .

 . . . . this was kinda' strange

 

 They were all geared up for "Redneck Days"!

It was hot and there was no shade! 

I made use of this smokey the bear freebie and fixed up Audrey a sun shade hat! 

Problem was . . . it made her look kind of "redneck"

 

Then came the HOG WRESTLING
