Fixing the brakes

Now who says girls can't work on cars?
Jim had the girls help him change the brakes on the suburban the other day.

Never under estimate a female!  They thought it was fun.

Pretty smiles

Alora really loves wearing her leather vest and dug out this cowboy hat from the basement . . .
I just love this smile.

Amanda and Annelise took a trip to Chelan, Wa and Ronan, Mt for convention this June, so the following pictures are just of the younger three.

Field Trip to Rushmore Cave with Alora

Just before the end of the school year Alora's class went to Rushmore Cave.
I quickly volunteered to chaperon.
What was I thinking?  I don't like caves!

The class played in a park

The kids had so much fun with this pipe

At Rushmore Cave there was a really fun gold mining area the kids really enjoyed.  Kids always love to play in water, and it was a great way to cool off.

Inside the cave
I was really glad to see the sky again!  It never looked so good :-)

Having some fun

It was so fun making these cute cookies for Amanda's middle school graduation.  You can read more about the process here if you are interested.
These were for teacher gifts and they were really easy to make!  The bottle is clear and the message is inside the soap bottle!  It would be really fun to add a photo of someone like they are caught inside the bottle!  I saw something like that on pinterest, maybe next time.

Audrey 20 months

Audrey is just hilarious!
She is trying out different expressions and really uses her hands to show emotion.  Often she will cross her arms, furrow her brow and grunt as if to let us know she is not happy about something.
Everything is "owie", or "NO", or "UmHm"
It is really cute to see that Audrey is in the, kiss my owie and everything is better, stage!

Amber:  "Mom.  I feel like having some cookies."

Me:  "Yeah.  Me too.  I'm too busy, if you want to make them, go ahead."

Amber:  "How about some chocolate cookies?"

Me:  "That sounds good.  I have a recipe on my blog, I'll print it for you."

A little while later.

Amber:  "Arrgh!  Mom!  I messed them up!"

Me:  "Well, what's wrong?  Did you cream the butter and sugar?"

Amber:  Disgusted, "Mom!  There's no cream in them!"

Me:  Clearly understanding she has no clue what I just asked her, "No, honey.  You need to mix the butter with  the sugar really well until it's creamy in texture.  That's what is called creaming the butter and sugar."

Amber:  With a big smile, "Ohhhh!  I get it!"

By the way, they were fabulous!

We ate them all.
